A Video Treat: Nathan Sanchez and His Best Friend Sniper the Silver Lab (click here)

Sniper was my graduation gift from school. He is extremely loyal. He knows how to speak on command, he can sit, shake, lay down, roll over, army crawl, play dead, and I'll save the best for last and let you watch the last one!!! Believe it or not this only took three days for him to finally catch on. He is incredibly smart and he is definitely my best friend! Enjoy the video!

Dances With Dogs Retrievers is a family owned and operated premier breeder of Yellow, Black, Chocolate, Silver, Charcoal, and Silver-Factored Labrador Retrievers as well as Golden Retrievers. We are also a premier breeder of the majestic Irish Wolfhound. We are located in rural Central Illinois where there is plenty of room for our dogs to run and romp on our acreage. In the attempt to continuously improve our program we strive to seek out titled Studs and Dams to introduce into our program as well as dogs possessing the required

OFA and/or Penn Hip Clearances as well as appropriate elbow, cardiac and eye certification.

Health clearances are very important in producing a happy, healthy, hand-raised puppy. Titled lineage is a plus but we have found at times the most titled dog is sometimes not the best fit for a family or situation.

We strive to combine excellent confirmation, best genetic traits, positive disposition, balanced temperament, exceptional good looks, intelligence and athleticism with socialization, hands on affection and fun resulting in a wonderfully balanced dog.

The Irish Wolfhound, known as The Dog of Kings, documented back to the
Roman Empire is deemed the Gentle Giant. In Medieval Times only Kings could own them and how many a king owned proved their wealth and stature. These dogs can grow to three feet in height at the shoulders and weigh as much as nearly 200 pounds. Bred to hunt Elk and Wolves these massive creatures are easy going, kind and gentle in nature. The Irish Wolfhound can vary in color from a deep Gray, almost black to an ivory color with Wheaton being the most popular in the United States and Gray being the most popular in the United Kingdom. These massive animals are filled with individual personalities, get their feelings hurt easily, are intensely loyal, they think at 130 to 250 pounds they are a lap dog, and have a propensity for being couch potatoes. Check out our Wolfhound pages and galleries for pictures and upcoming litters.
