These four Charcoal puppies from Jag and Angel were donated to the Dwight Women's Correctional Facility. They will be trained to be service dogs, they are pictured with thier handlers, inmates who train these dogs under professional supervision as part of their rehabilitation. Each dog is assigned to one handler for the duration of their training until they are ready to be placed with a family or service organization.

Elyse & Beau

Hello Joey and Kenny,
C,_D,_and_B_in_the_yard
Many times this past week, we've talked of you, so grateful for the work you do and for the first eight weeks of Beau's life because he is just a delightful, sweet little pup!
This is a bit like having a new baby in the house, and for the first few nights, he needed to go out several times.  The second night was Stewart's turn to do a night, and the "plan" was for him (like me the night before) to sleep on the couch with Beau's crate on the wood floor nearby.  If he whimpered, he'd sing him back to sleep (like I did the night before), and if he was restless and moving around in his crate, he would take him outside and then immediately back in the crate so Beau understood that it was sleeptime.
So...
When I come down at 6am that next morning, what do I see but an empty couch and an empty crate.  I turn to the kitchen, and what I see is Beau, ears perked up, laying down right alongside Stewart, who is on the kitchen floor completely asleep with a pillow and throw blanket.  This is not what we had planned.  Turns out, our PhD Stew has a hard time remembering certain things!  He said, with puppy dog eyes:  "We didn't go over the schedule!" (lie.)  At 2am, Stewart was playing fetch with Beau in the backyard!
Since then, nights have been fine, and Stewart has done very well parenting our pup!
Beau is a total sweetheart, and loves to be snuggled, and to play, and to chew, chew, chew on his toys.  He's also extremely excited to eat his cup of puppy food three times a day.  We transitioned him to Puppy Eukunuba after the Purina sample pack was gone, and he's done great with it.
When I took him to the Vet last week, he weighed 13 pounds, and they all concurred he was a beautiful dog.
Thanks so much, and we'll stay in touch!
Elyse

Molly Dreamer

Mammoth
Hi Joey,
Dreamer, now known as Molly Dreamer :),  is great.   She and Hank are figuring out the dog hierarchy.  They are almost twins.. I have gotten them mixed up a couple of times.   The kids LOVE her... as do John and I.  We are excited she is here with us. Thanks for your part in getting her to our home.

Jeff and Donna & Sarge

Hi Kenny and Joey,

Mammoth
I just wanted to let you know that the surprise went over well - she really was surprised! Donna named him Sarge and he has been a joy to be with. The travel home went smooth  we stopped in Dwight and he went pee in the grass like a natural.

Sarge's first night included many visitors from the neighborhood and it pooped him out. He slept really good and had no accidents in house or cage.

His first day has been exploring house and yard mostly and getting comfortable with his surroundings. We got him a new collar with stars on it - seems fitting as he is a star

Mammoth
We'll be visiting vet this coming week and will forward stuff to you as requested along with photo.

Thank you for providing us with the opportunity

Melanie and Tim & Porter

First off - All of our thanks goes to Kenny and Joey for breeding such beautiful Silver Labs!! Porter is doing SOOO great!!! He's
Mammoth
been so much fun the last several weeks. Watching him grow and learn new things everyday is an amazing experience. He is a first-time dog for both of us, and we could not ask for a better puppy.

Not trying to brag.. but I can't help it! He's so smart!!!! He learned Sit, Lay Down, and High Five at 8 weeks! He's got a great personality - he's a very serious boy, but in a really funny way! He's always on a mission... 24/7, literally. He's obsessed with the shower - he hears the water running...and he dives head first into the curtain. If he could be in water everyday,
Tim and Melanie - Hartland WI (Mammoth)
he would be in heaven. Thank goodness we live on the lake!! Come summertime - he will be a blast! Porter is sweet, laid back, energetic, loving, cuddly, goofy, sassy, and BRAVE.. (he thinks he's a very big dog already)... and all of these things make everyday so fun with him.

After countless hours of online search engines trying to locate a LIGIT Silver Lab, we could not be any happier. After falling in love with the coloring of these Labs, it was a difficult and stressful process trying to find one of our own. Dances With Dogs Retrievers has been nothing but wonderful to us - countless conversations, helping us choose which puppy was best for us, and all the guidance and direction they've offered us about raising our new baby! Porter is truly an amazing dog and again, thank you Dances With Dogs Retrievers for the wonderful addition to our home!

Barriss Family & Cooper

Barriss Family with Cooper (Mammoth)
We had a great Christmas! It was such a surprise. It was much harder to keep him under wraps till Christmas morning than we thought! Our son was up at 3am saying he thought he heard a dog, or maybe Santa coughing! The kids adore him.

We named the pup Cooper. He is doing great. He went to the vet today & tipped the scales at 20 pounds! He has a great temperament; you sure made a nice match. He's making great progress potty training. We started dog school & the trainer is impressed with how fast he picks things up. He's a star student!
We can't thank you enough for all of the thoughtfulness & care you have given us!
Take care,

The Barriss Family

Grego Family & Bella

I could gush about how wonderful Bella is for days, but I'm sure you have better things to do than to listen to us talk more about our Bella! She is part of the family now, and we count our blessings daily.
Grego Family, Arlington Heights, IL (Mammoth)
Thank you for helping us select her, we couldn't have asked for anyone else.

Thank you for her...she is one of our greatest gifts!

You have made this entire process special for us, especially since we were originally afraid to use a breeder from the Internet! From the very beginning, we felt ‘connected’ with Dances with Dogs Retrievers, and felt confident prior to meeting you both and seeing the wonderful care that you provided to our puppies. We're delighted with our little Bella, and can't thank you both, enough!
xoxo

Hicks first Christmas with Zeuse (Mammoth)
Zeuse is doing GREAT!!!! He ADORES Lexi!!! He follows her everywhere, lays and snuggles, and walks on the leash real good with her! He is so cute and cuddly!! We have been working on biting and he is doing better already!! He is so smart already!!....sometimes think he knows his name...especially if Lexi calls him!

We have created a slightly spoiled pup!...but he is so good! He is so loved by our family! He has made loosing Titan a lot easier on everyone!
Austin with Zeuse (Mammoth)
We just smile and say "remember when Titan used to do that!"...then tell Zeuse he is just perfect for us! Thanks a million times for our special pup!
Lexie with Zeuse (Mammoth)
